We have an exciting opportunity to join our Purchasing Team as we are actively recruiting for a
Buyer responsible for the material and services procurement with a focus on our commodity buying programs.

Previous procurement experience with cost, quality and delivery emphasis is a requirement. This position reports to the
Purchasing Manager.

What we're looking for

Create 'Request for Quotations'(RFQ); analyze vendor quotations; recommend sourcing
Develop new sources of supply
Schedule vendor visits to: support business relationships; assess processes and facilities
Report out pricing, cost trends and vendor lead time changes
Ensure the proper preparation of purchase orders (items, terms, conditions)
Support the Inside Sales Department to ensure timely responses and communication of quotations.
Follow up and expedite deliveries of shipments as required.
Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

What you need to succeed

Secondary School Diploma
Relevant postsecondary education (Purchasing, Logistics, Business Administration) an asset
Experience in MRP / ERP systems an asset
Professional designation in PMAC an asset
Microsoft (Word, Excel) required
Blueprint reading experience recommended
