Kinsight is an accredited non-profit organization.

We work alongside families of children, youth and adults with developmental delays or disabilities to support growth, development and personal well-being.

We work with hundreds of community members and professionals to welcome and include all people, and foster vibrant and healthy communities.

We serve the communities of New Westminster, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore and Belcarra. Our mission is to provide options and opportunities for people to have meaningful relationships and fulfilling lives.

About L.I.F.E. Services_**
L.I.F.E. stands for
Learning,
Inclusion,
Friendship and
Employment. The program is part of CLBC's Community Inclusion category of services.

It is available to anyone served by CLBC who has an employment goal, and who also want support to increase confidence and independence, connect to the community, learn new things, build friendships and a network of natural support around them.

L.I.F.E.

Services are designed to respond to the natural rhythm of a person's life, and adjusts supports provided over time in response to people's changing goals and needs.

The supports offered through L.I.F.E. services enable people to personalize, direct and evaluate their services in a way that works for them.

Services Guide_**The
Guide works closely with people who use the service to co-design, deliver, evaluate and continually improve the effectiveness of the service.

L.I.F.E.

Services focus on a blend of supports aimed at assisting people to achieve their ambitions related to employment, community connection and lifelong learning.

L.I.F.E. service strategies incorporate the development and strengthening of informal support networks and personal skill and confidence enhancement.

Does that sound like you?_**
HOURS:35 hours/week - Monday to Friday, on a flex schedule.

This position requires flexible working hours including some evenings/weekends as required by the needs, ambitions and schedules of the people supported.


LOCATIONS:


  • Tri-Cities, New Westminster and surrounding communities

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • A degree or diploma in Social Sciences, Community Support Worker, Therapeutic Recreation, Social Services, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One to three years of experience in supporting people with developmental disabilities
  • Experience in userled Design and facilitation an asset
  • Position requires welldeveloped interpersonal and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly selfmotivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to develop presentations and convene/facilitate community discussions
  • Class 5 Driver's License; satisfactory driving record; required to use personal vehicle for work
  • Ability to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check Clearance
  • BCGEU union membership
