    ENTRUST Canada is seeking a Distribution Design Technician to join our team. You will work with high self‑motivation, collaborating with engineering teams to deliver overhead and underground distribution line design projects for utility and industrial customers. This position appeals to individuals who enjoy client interaction and hands‑on problem solving to achieve successful outcomes.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop new overhead and underground designs by applying knowledge of distribution electrical systems construction, operation, and maintenance.
    • Prepare estimates, material take‑offs, scopes of work, and designs using client standards, industry codes and practices, and internal MHV procedures.
    • Complete electrical and structural engineering calculations using industry and client tools such as PLS‑CADD, SPIDAcalc, ALD, DSA, DCSM, and DAD.
    • Produce survey and construction packages using software such as Office 365, ArcGIS, AutoCAD/MicroStation, PLS‑CADD, AM/FM, and Passport.
    • Conduct site visits for field reconnaissance during the project design phase and field inspections during the project construction phase.
    • Collaborate with clients, external stakeholders, and internal team members to produce engineering products that meet quality, schedule, and cost requirements.
    • Complete specialized technical assignments and assist in the preparation of engineering reports.

    Qualifications

    • 1 year experience in distribution project design.
    • Electrical or Civil Engineering degree, or Electrical or Civil Engineering Technology diploma, or Power Lineman certificate with design experience.
    • Ability to work in design teams and perform assigned tasks with limited supervision.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Exemplary customer service skill.
