Host Agency Support Worker Wanted


Community Living Victoria (CLV) is the largest non-profit community living service provider on Vancouver Island, and provides a range of support services to children, youth and adults with intellectual disabilities and their families.

Support Summary:
A is a very ambitious young person who lives independently in a suite within a 4-plex with outreach support. A lives with autism and enjoys teaching people about autism. A enjoys staying busy and is usually involved in many social activities. A is technology savvy. A has a difficult time with transitions or change and prefers a routine. A sometimes is a worrier and worries that he does not have enough support around him.

A enjoys being out in nature and it is important to him to have some quiet space in his day.

A is sometimes resistant to working on "independent living skills" with support workers in the areas of cooking, cleaning etc.

He would rather be out and about in the community having fun and doing social/recreational activities. A is supported well from CLV, P2B, and his informal support network.
- have previous experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities and autism
- have a current first aid certification or be willing to re-certify
- willing to consent to a Criminal Record Check through the Ministry of Justice
- have a Class 5 Driver's license and vehicle
- be creative, flexible, friendly, and able to establish trust
- be health conscious and in good health
- be vaccinated for Covid and are willing to provide a copy of their vaccine passport

This position is an independent contract and as such, contractors are not employees of Community Living Victoria.

These contracts are renewed on an annual basis contingent upon both parties wanting to continue the contract, and if credentials are up to date.


Job Types:
Part-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months


Salary:
$26.20 per hour

Expected hours: 12 per week
