The role of
Site Supervisor reports to the Operations Manager and works with all construction teams and subcontractors to ensure that the jobsite progresses efficiently on budget and on schedule.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Responsible for all site safety, maintenance, and adherence of COR documents.
  • Work closely with Operations Manager/Project Manager prior to job startup to update the outline and schedule.
  • Conduct project startup meeting(s), as required.
  • Participate in project work plan development.
  • Manage site startups, and mobilization including site layout planning, trailer, restroom, and generator mobilization.
  • Review letter of intents and purchase orders with Project Manager prior to issuance to confirm scope of work and exclusions match site requirements.
  • Maintain clean set of construction drawings and specifications with updates made throughout the project.
  • Maintain site binder of subcontractor and vendor agreements for reference to scope of work, as well as daily supervisor logs.
  • Leads daily site coordination meetings with subcontractors when required for the work.
  • Leads Daily safety talks
  • Organize and coordinate subcontractor activities as required to maintain project baseline schedule.
  • Monitor and ensure quality control of all work.
  • Coordinate deliveries and pickup of material and machinery, ensuring proper materials and quantities of materials are onsite prior to daily work commencing.
  • Liaise daily with Project Coordinator and Project Manager to update site logs, schedule, strategize, and report on job progress and job changes, report any issues with nonperforming subcontractors and vendors.
  • Ensure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, and that workers are in compliance with government and company health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors to resolve jobsite issues as they arise
  • Meet with Operations Manager / Project Manager to debrief after each project closes as part of the project postmortem.
  • Issues site POs, provides work authorization to subcontractors and vendors, and provides signed copies to the Project Coordinator and Project Manager for processing and costing.
  • Monitors and tracks quantities of delivery and haulage. Provides copy of all packing slips to Project Manager for processing
  • Coordinate the demobilization from site at the close of the project.
  • Monitors, tracks, and coordinates repairs of all deficiencies with subcontractors and vendors.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS / ABILITIES

Experience / Education

  • Postsecondary education in Construction Management or Project Management
  • 310 years' experience as onsite construction supervisor or foreman (Heavy civil construction, mechanical, electrical, concrete, water / wastewater)

Skills & Abilities

  • Previous work experience troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving onsite issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to read construction blueprints, schematics, field drawings and plans and specifications
  • Proficient in use of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and Google G suite
  • Experience using GPS for construction site layout
  • Valid G driver's license
  • Proficient understanding of the Ontario building code
  • Understanding of constructability and construction project life span
  • Highly organized with ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
  • Strategic and solutionsoriented with strong problem solving skills
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
