Job summary
The Workplace Mental Health Specialist supports psychological health and safety of City staff through preventative actions post-incident intervention services reducing overall health risk.The specialist must ensure an equity inclusion lens with respect trauma informed culturally competent practices considerations.
Responsibilities
- Attend in person City worksites debriefing services CISM CISD support impacted staff
- Offer virtual telephonic post-incident support debriefing consultant CISM CISD services
- Preliminary assessment post-incident psychological risks Workplace Safety Recovery Wellness Benefits WorkSafeBC required coach managers supervisors needed provide subject matter expertise assist implementation corrective actions incident investigations educate managers supervisors workplace mental health support CISM well-being check-ins teams short long-term basis connect staff well-being services Employee Family Assistance Program ongoing support remain up date City community resources augment programs needed deliver defusing debriefing on-site support terminations restructuring organizational change check-in follow-up work workplace challenges supporting staff mental well-being preventative capacity participate Vancouver Emergency Operations Center stage 1 3 activations offering CISM psychological support staff assist development promotion CISM psychological wellness resources presentations process documents conversation guides courses ensuring trauma informed approaches keep leaders senior leadership emerging issues trends related employee well-being workplace critical incidents report psychological safety risks hazards process resource improvements educate managers supervisors recognizing responding employee psychological physical health challenges assist delivery psycho-educational workshops topics related psychological safety mental health workplace Mental Health First Aid adopt own psychological wellness practices organization complete Crisis Management Services administrative requirements assigned other duties responsibilities assigned
