Northern Strands is currently recruiting for a team player to fulfill the role of a
  • Fall Protection Lead Hand. Our client base includes the mining industry, construction industry, urban and rural municipal governments, and more.

    This position is primarily responsible for the execution of safe and efficient fall protection system installations and assessments, and applicants must be willing to travel and be prepared to work overtime.

    The Fall Protection Lead Hand will work closely with the Fall Protection team and will take direction from the Crew Supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute project premobilization deliverables, detailed project planning, and post installation drawing redlines, and documentation completion
  • Conduct site assessments for installation project quotations
  • Install fall protection systems and perform fall protection inspections at a variety of customer sites
  • Complete tasks in accordance with the company policies and procedures
  • Maintain safe work practices
  • Communicate professionally with clients and other work groups
  • Complete inspection reports, timesheets, required paperwork, and incident reports, as needed
  • Other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • 2+ years of related work experience
  • Valid drivers license
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Ability to operator computers/tablets in order to complete required documentation
  • Any safety related training certificates would be considered an asset
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities
