    About the Job

    The nursing department at Brucelea Haven is accepting applications for Registered Practical Nurses. The Registered Practical Nurse assesses, plans, implements and evaluates all assigned resident care (in collaboration with a Registered Nurse), according to established standards, policies and procedures.

    Salary & Benefits

    The wage for this position is $33.02 per hour, based on the UNIFOR collective agreement.

    The Part Time Day/Evening Line covers the two different shifts per shift scheduled (Days - 6AM-2PM, Evenings 2PM-10PM).. This line has 4-7 shifts within a two week period, which includes every other weekend.

    Requirements

    - Current certificate of competency from the College of Nurses of Ontario with annual mandatory licensing renewal

    • One year previous working experience in health care, preferably in a long term care setting with demonstrated leadership skills
    • Post-RPN education and experience in gerontology or related field, preferred
    • Current CPR certification
    • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
    • TB Two Step Skin Test
    • 3 COVID 19 Vaccinations
    • Demonstrated commitment to providing residentfocused care
    • Ability to work with others in a team approach
    • Physically able to perform assigned duties within a flexible work schedule
    • Genuine interest in the wellbeing of the elderly
    • Demonstrated patience, adaptability and flexibility
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to meet and maintain health requirements as per Long Term Care Legislation
    • Computer skills
    • Point Click Care would be an asset
