About this Opportunity
This Calgary office-based position requires an individual with vision, purpose and energy.

Reporting to the Environmental Supervisor, this role is responsible for analyzing, developing, and executing environmental monitoring and reporting activities in support of the business with a particular focus on emissions and air related issues.

This includes monitoring and reporting for all emissions-related environmental programs. This is a diverse and evolving role and will require strength in initiating continuous improvement initiatives.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Lead and coordinate emissions monitoring and reporting programs in compliance with TIER, GHGRP, Benzene (D39), MSAPR, AEIR and other environmental programs as required.
  • Determine environmental regulatory requirements and ensure compliance systems and processes are in place to meet federal, provincial, and local environmental regulations
  • Support costeffective emission reduction goals
  • Collaborate with environmental consultants for emissions monitoring and reporting
  • Provide input/data to aid in preparation and management of environmental budgets, internal and external reports
  • Support with interpreting regulatory requirements on air emissions, including standards, procedures, and work practices
  • Provide compliance support to operations as needed
  • Support longterm, costeffective emission reduction goals into Paramount operations through liaison with the GHG Task Force and ESG Committee
  • Lead the maintenance and improvement of emissions management databases
  • Accountable for Benzene Emissions Inventory and the AER and work with field operations to avoid exceedances of emissions criteria
  • Support the Field Environmental Coordinators in completion of annual Dehydrator Engineering and Operations Sheet (DEOS) surveys
  • Support temporary flaring evaluations and coordinate temporary flaring permits
  • Maintain indepth working knowledge of acts and regulations for environmental regulatory compliance and industry requirements
  • Provide coaching of Paramount employees and consultants in flaring notification and reporting requirements
  • Prepare project proposals, work scopes, and cost estimates

Qualifications:


  • Completion of a University degree in Environmental Sciences or Engineering is required
  • A Professional designation (e.g., P.Ag, P.Biol, P. Chem, P.Eng or P.Geo. Eng. Tech) with a recognized association is also required
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in airrelated environmental field (preferred)
  • Solid working knowledge of a wide range of environmental management issues associated with emissions, permitting, approvals, and reporting
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable Federal and Provincial air regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong trouble shooting, decisionmaking abilities and project management experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively and driven to achieve results
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, AFE Navigator, CS Explorer, AbaData, Powervision, Emissions Manager, Fuel, Vent, Flare Manager
