Job description


Pitchfork Market + Kitchen is a Grocery Store, with more A full service Restaurant, farm to fork beef, chicken & pork, organic produce, local produce, tons of local products and a great selection of unique items you would not normally find in a grocery store.

Applicants must be Energetic, Determined and possess a Positive Approach and Drive to Succeed.


Our Store is searching for a friendly and experienced
Market Staff to ensure that the market is well-maintained and running efficiently.

This position requires you to perform all physical aspects of the job such as lifting, carrying, climbing ladders, squatting, and standing for long periods of time.

You will act as the first point of contact with customers and help them with information and support.


Responsibilities:


  • Knowledgeable regarding all areas of the store with continued education
  • Support customer with their shopping needs
  • Ensure the store is fully stocked, clean, safe and in order.
  • Using proper lifting techniques.
  • Merchandising shelves to promote products
  • Removing produce that shows signs of spoilage.
  • Ensuring the quality and visual appearance of Produce Department merchandise. Washing, cutting, and preparing produce for display on sales floor.
  • Ensuring Meat department is fully stocked with merchandise and is ready for business.
  • Packaging of meat products for retail display
  • Process customer orders and payments.
  • Discard expired items and place near expiry items on special promotions.
  • Adhering to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sellby dates, and expiration dates.
  • Adhering to food safety and handling procedures and following sanitation and cleaning procedures.
  • Operation of the Point of Sale and executing customers transactions
  • Cashing out the Point of Sale and market for end of day

SHIFTS AVAILABLE:


  • 2PM 10PM
  • 3PM 9PM
  • Other shifts may be available as we further grow our sales volume.
  • These shift also include having weekend availability

Pitchfork Team Member
Requirements:


  • High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Working knowledge of produce/meat/grocery/dairy/frozen foods and operation of checkouts.
  • Quality, hygiene, safety, and food preparation.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to perform all physical aspects of the job such as lifting and carrying heavy items, climbing ladders, squatting, and standing for long periods of time.
