corporate communications manager working in Toronto, Canada, you are responsible for overseeing and implementing media relations strategies, crisis and issues responses, executive thought leadership and community affairs initiatives in Canada.
  • Reporting to the senior director of corporate affairs, this role requires a strong foundational understanding of Molson Coors' portfolio, its longrange objectives and its key external stakeholder audiences, including Canadian news media, shareholders, government officials, regulatory bodies, trade organizations and nonprofit organizations. You will act as a company spokesperson and represent Molson Coors when interfacing with all the aforementioned stakeholder audiences.

The Responsibilities:


  • Drive effective external communications strategies that raise the profile of Molson Coors' business, its brands and its employer profile in Canada. Counsel senior leaders across the business and spearhead the development and implementation of communications plans that support the company's business objectives across national media and hometown communities. Guide and train senior executives on contextspecific messaging for media interviews, public speaking opportunities and thought leadership.
  • Act as the primary media spokesperson for all corporate communications and community affairs matters in Canada, including crisis and issues communications.
  • Create communitybased strategies and initiatives that enhance Molson Coors' image among local businesses, governmental, and civic organizations. Manage all notforprofit community partnerships, especially in territories where Molson Coors' has a brewery or office presence, and ensure that local and national efforts support Molson Coors' environmental, social and governance commitments. Promote Molson Coors commitment to local community involvement.
  • Partner with other areas of the communications team (marketing communications, internal communications) to ensure all major announcements reflect a coordinated, crossaudience approach. Partner frequently with other functions (supply chain, government affairs / legal, sales, finance) to accomplish crossfunctional communications objectives.
  • Oversee the entirety of Canada's philanthropic and community affairs budget as well as the corporate communications budget for Canada which includes agency management and vendor contracts for communications analytics and reporting tools.
  • Manage external agencies to develop marketing, advertising, PR strategies, and assets.

The Other Qualifications:


  • You have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (4+ years).
  • You have at least 810 years of experience in corporate communications, journalism, public relations, politics, or a related field of work.
  • You have a thorough understanding of the evolving media landscape and communication platforms, editorial storytelling, content creation, and media relationshipbuilding.
  • You have experience in communications plan development and execution for specialized programs and segmented audiences, including crisis and issues management.
  • You have strong written and verbal communication and organizational and project management skills that include program/event planning and tactical execution.
  • You understand the linkages of external communications to internal and system communications and other key stakeholder groups.
  • You "connect the dots" quickly and effectively to drive external dialog.
  • You build relationships and collaborate with all levels of the organization and community contacts to get to the desired outcome, especially when a strong point of view must be delivered.
  • You love a challenge. You complete complex projects quickly and adeptly with your understanding of the business priorities.
  • You take accountability for results acting with integrity and honoring commitments.
