    3-Year Term, Non-Tenure Track, Lecturer Position in Veterinary Biomedical Sciences

    Applications are invited from qualified individuals for a 3-year term non-tenure-track lecturer position within the Department of Veterinary Biomedical Sciences of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. The position seeks an applicant to teach within two team-taught core courses VBMS 250 Veterinary Anatomy (9 credit units) and VBMS 260 Form and Function (13 credit units) in the veterinary medicine program (DVM Year 1). Duties will mainly include classroom teaching (lectures) as well as lab and/or tutorial demonstration. Contents covered in these courses include comparative veterinary anatomy and microscopic anatomy ( histology). There is also a possibility of contributing some lectures on physiology of various organ systems and biochemistry. Existing teaching materials could be provided to assist the successful applicant. Teaching of these courses occurs between mid-August to the end of April.

More than 250 undergraduate students are enrolled at the internationally recognized college that also includes the Veterinary Medical Centre, a state-of-the-art primary care and referral hospital; the BJ Hughes Centre for Clinical Learning; and Prairie Diagnostic Services, providing expertise in support of animal health diagnostics, teaching and disease surveillance.

    Qualifications

    Applicants must have a PhD in a life sciences-related discipline. A DVM and previous teaching experiences would be assets for this position but are not required.

    Salary bands for this position are as follows: Lecturer: $81,678 to $121,278; Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
