JOB SUMMARY

  • The Scanning/Digitization Clerk is a fulltime, term position (8 weeks) sponsored by the Canada Summer Jobs_
  • Initiative, that reports directly to the Senior Director
  • Finance & Operations of Canadian Lutheran World Relief._
  • This position will provide digitization and administrative support to the Operations and other departments_
- (Finance, Donor Relations, HR/Board Governance) and will support CLWR's efforts to go paperless; perform a wide_
- variety of support duties including but not limited to faxing, scanning, photocopying. The Digitization Assistant will_
- work with sensitive materials that require care and handling. Experience in a professional setting would be_
- considered an asset. Judgement is needed to determine if a document is considered an irreplaceable document._

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Eligibility requirements _
  • To be eligible, "youth" must_
- _Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period;_
- _Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of employment._
- _Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in_

  • Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations._
- _International students are not eligible participants. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible._

  • Minimum knowledge (formal education/general knowledge) required:_
  • A secondary school diploma or equivalent_
  • Minimum experience required:_
  • Experience archiving files and creating digital access would be an asset
  • General office experience handling physical documents such as photocopying and scanning documents
  • Technical skills required:_
  • Ability to read rapidly to determine document importance and relevance
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in the operation and use of Microsoft Office products
  • Other skills or requirements:_
  • Eligible to work in Canada and live in Winnipeg (refer to "eligibility requirements" above)
  • Ability to convey a high degree of commitment and passion for the mission, vision, and values of CLWR
  • A high level of professionalism, integrity, respect and confidentially is a must
  • Strong organization skills with proven ability to prioritize
  • Ability to plan and organize tasks, anticipate requirements and ensure that user group needs are met
