    Senior Associate - Retirement Consulting

    This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Vancouver office.

    The salary range for this position is $72,000 - $96,000. The actual salary will vary based on the applicant's education, experience, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity.

    What the day will look like

    As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions supporting our pension consulting team.
    • Provide consulting services and technical support to various clients;
    • Produce and review pension-specific calculations, such as actuarial valuations, improvement studies and projections;
    • Review of pension-specific benefit calculations according to the standards and procedures established in the case of termination of service, retirement, death, or marriage breakdown;
    • Preparation of annual reports, financial reports and statements for participants according to established guidelines;
    • Prepare reports and letters and participate in other projects in the field;
    • Take part in developing effective oral presentations for existing and potential clients, individually or in collaboration with team members; in business development activities as well as in the management of accounts and client projects.
    • Participate in the development of IT tools to improve productivity.

    Skills and experience that will lead to success
    • Relevant professional experience of 3 to 4 years;
    • Very good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint);
    • Shows the capacity to prioritize and efficiently balance multiple demands in an environment with strict timelines;
    • Act collaboratively with colleagues while demonstrating applied learning by continually improving their contribution, as well as demonstrating team spirit;
    • Respond willingly, quickly and optimally to changing work environments, priorities and situations;
    • Demonstrate the ability to effectively identify problems, opportunities and alternative solutions; think creatively to generate approaches for operational improvement;
    • Demonstrate logical and efficient behaviour with attention to detail;
    • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance or Business Administration; or years of equivalent work experience in a relevant sector.
    • Have begun and aspire to complete and pass the courses, examinations and work experience requirements for Fellowship in the Canadian Institute of Actuaries
