    What is the opportunity?

    RBC Caribbean is hiring a User Interface (UI) Designer to join our Digital Banking team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting interfaces that balance form and function while adhering to best practices as established by the community. You will need proven experience as a UI designer or in a related role, be able to craft beautiful interfaces that are intuitive to use, collaborate with team members throughout the product lifecycle to create a cohesive experience for end-users, ensure designs adhere to UI standards and best practices, and have a strong understanding of design principles, user experience, and information architecture.

    What will you do?

    • Conceptualize, create and refine intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for web and mobile applications
    • Present concepts and defend design choices during review sessions with key stakeholders and senior business leaders
    • Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to communicate design ideas effectively
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, developers, and other designers to ensure designs meet user and business requirements
    • Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and iterate on designs
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in UI design
    • Implement UI design guidelines and standards to maintain consistency across products.

    What do you need to succeed?

    Must-have

    • A degree in a design or related field or the equivalent work experience
    • 1+ year of experience working in design or marketing teams, digital or advertising agencies
    • A portfolio that demonstrates your design skills and conceptual thinking
    • Strong aesthetic skills and a demonstration of graphic design core principles with respect to typography, layout/composition, grid systems, colour, photography, iconography, etc.
    • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and similar tools
    • Broad, conceptual understanding of RBC Banking and the interdependencies of Sales & Service
    • Expertise in visual design and use-system interactions
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
    • Robust creative thinking and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work under tight deadlines

    Nice to have

    • Experience working in agile environment
    • Knowledge of HTML and CSS
