What You'll Be Doing


As a Data Risk Analyst, you will report to Director of Data Risk Dashboard and Reporting as part of CIBC's Chief Data Office.

You will be responsible for collecting, organizing, and analyzing data to create reports and dashboards that provide insights into business performance and risk metrics.

Responsibilities include gathering data from various sources, cleaning, and validating data, designing and implementing reporting solutions, creating visualizations, and communicating findings to stakeholders.


How You'll Succeed- Data Gathering: The ability to collect data from various sources, such as databases, spreadsheets, APIs, or other systems- Data Cleansing and Validating: Ensuring data accuracy and consistency by cleaning and validating datasets, identifying and resolving errors or inconsistencies.- Data Analysis - Strong analytical skills, proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Excel, Tableau or BI software, and the ability to interpret and present complex data are key qualifications for this role.

Additionally, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills are essential.- Reporting Development - Designing and developing reports and dashboards to visualize data using tools like SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or other business intelligent (BI) software- Report Automation - Automating report generation processes to streamline workflows and improve efficiency- Visualization : Creating clear and intuitive visualizations, such as charts, graphs, and tables, to communicate complex data effectively to stakeholders- Ad Hoc Analysis: Conducting ad hoc analysis to answer specific business questions or address immediate needs- Data Interpretation: Interpreting data findings and translating them into actionable insights or recommendations for decision-making- Stakeholder Communication: Presenting findings and reports to stakeholders in a clear and understanding manger, tailoring communication to the audience's level of technical understanding- Documentation: Documenting reporting processes, methodologies, and findings for future reference and reproducibility

  • Continuous Improvement:
Staying updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and new analytical techniques to continuously improve reporting capabilities and deliver greater value to the organization- Process Enhancement

  • Support our partners across the Enterprise in reporting of proposed key performance indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)
