The Curriculum Coordinator is primarily responsible for implementing and maintaining recognized programming that meets the needs of industry and fosters student success.
This role facilitates partnerships with businesses, associations, industry representatives, and government officials.The Curriculum Coordinator acts as an advisor with regards to program delivery on the campus level and fosters effective communication between stakeholders to ensure that the full potential of programming is met.
Key Responsibilities- Provide oversight of Academy Canada programs as designated by the Curriculum Department Head.
- Conduct program reviews to ensure programming remains contemporary and meets industry standards. Prepare and submit formal program reviews and changes to the Department of Education.
- Lead curriculum development, approval, communication, and documentation initiatives.
- Revise or create curriculum in response to stakeholder feedback and labour market information.
- Maintain comprehensive program documentation in SharePoint.
- Provide campus support by offering guidance to campus staff.
- Manage texts and digital resources.
- Create teaching, learning, and assessment resources, including developing and revising courses in Academy Canada's Brightspace D2L Learning Management System (LMS), World Classroom.
- Explore and maintain industry partnership opportunities through various opportunities.
- Lead accreditation for accredited programs under your oversight.
Required:
- A degree in Education, Curriculum Development, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in content creation, curriculum development, program coordination, or educational leadership.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage all stakeholders in written, verbal, and electronic formats.
- A high level of digital literacy applicable to various aspects of the role.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work independently.
- Professional, approachable demeanor with a strong student and partner orientation.
- Adaptability and willingness to embrace new approaches, methods, and technologies.
Preferred:
- Experience in teaching or training in a post-secondary environment.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems for online learning, particularly Brightspace D2L.
- Knowledge of post-secondary education standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Familiarity with accreditation processes and quality assurance practices.
- Problem-solving and initiative in identifying and resolving issues.
- Effective communication across multiple formats and audiences.
- Digital literacy and proficiency with educational technology.
- Collaborative teamwork and willingness to assist colleagues.
- Professional leadership and organizational skills.
- Strong focus with dedication to student and partner success.
