Production Manager


Reporting to the General Manager, the Production Manager will oversee the overall manufacturing process to ensure optimized production that will deliver high quality and cost-effective products in a safe environment.

The incumbent will provide visible leadership for the Production and Planning functions of the Continuous Manufacturing line of edibles confectionary.

Constant collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure objectives are successfully met as well as alignment with business plans and the larger organizational strategy is the primary objective.

Provide leadership for direct reports and factory employees.
Responsible for Health & Safety compliances in line with applicable regulations.
Develop, implement continuous improvement initiatives for the plant.
Responsible for Materials Inventory and Control Management.
Ensuring key performance indicators around quality, efficiency and cost are achieved


Qualifications

  • Ability to hold and maintain Security Clearance as per ACMPR;
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and train staff to deliver a high standard of product;
  • Analyze and solve process related problems;
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Manage change towards achieving business goals;
  • Contribute to building and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement
  • Able to work in a face paces environment with critical deadlines
  • Clear understanding of manufacturing regulations and packaging standards.
  • Overall accountability for all activities in Packaging Department
  • Support a culture of safety first and quality.
  • Track and trend productivity, labour, metrics, and production KPI's.
  • Ensue compliance with SOP's, FPS, WI, GMP
  • CAPA investigations, follow up and resolutions.
  • Work closely with support departments, Human Resources, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Warehouse.
  • Continuously improve production efficiencies, increase manufacturability while reducing waste.
  • Ability to escalate production related issues that may impact meeting deadlines or impact product quality.
  • Other duties as may be required.

Desired Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science or Engineering;
  • 7 to 10 years' direct operations experience in a leadership role;
  • Ability to define goals, metrics and levels of success;
  • Strong sense of urgency in meeting deadlines;
  • Ability to handle projects with multiple work streams both independently and as part of a team;
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing business situations
  • Ability to handle projects with multiple work streams both independently and as part of a team;
  • Must be able to work in adverse conditions. i.e. Height, heat, high intensity lighting;
  • Previous horticulture and agriculture experience would be considered an asset;
  • Previous Cannabis industry experience would be considered an asset;

Salary:
Up to $90,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
