GENERAL MANAGER - NANAIMO, BRITISH COLUMBIA

Nanaimo Gymnastics School (NGS) is a not-for-profit gymnastics club that has been serving the Nanaimo community for over 40 years.
We are looking for a General Manager (GM) who can help us continue to provide high-quality services to our members.
The GM will work alongside the Board of Directors and staff to support the overall business and operations of the club while working towards realizing NGS'sVision and Mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead NGS effectively and collaboratively to support our mission and vision
- Communicate effectively and lead by demonstrating a passionate and positive example
- Provide financial leadership by managing budgets and overseeing daily operations
- Manage human resources: including supervising staff, overseeing customer service, and assisting with staff scheduling
- Ensure all safety standards are met and up to date
- Assist with marketing and other communications plans
- Build and maintain a network in the Nanaimo community to promote NGS
- Ensure fundraising campaigns are successful and efficiently executed
- Ensure all correspondence is handled in an effective and timely manner, including member concerns, mediating responses, and implementing action plans
- Involvement on committees including fundraising, finance, and building
- In collaboration with Gym BC host sanctioned club events
Education:
- Postsecondary degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience could be considered, alongside other professional training
- Five or more years of leadership experience, or a similar role in the notforprofit sector or businessrelated fields
Qualifications:
- Solid organization, written, and communication skills
- Excellent customer service and problemsolving skills
- Highlevel strategic thinking and planning
- Ability to envision and effectively communicate the organization's strategic mission
- Ability to lead, provide a positive influence, oversee and work collaboratively with staff
- Proven success working with a Board of Directors
- General knowledge of Human Resources theories, practices, legislation, and resources
- Current criminal record check with vulnerable sector
- Current Respect in Sport certification and Standard First Aid (minimum) to be obtained within the first 3 months

$30,000.00-$62,000.00 per year
