Day-to-day activities include:
- Assess system, subsystem and component designs used or proposed for use on the Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV) Family of Vehicles, with respect to Reliability and Maintainability requirements
- Perform Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) on proposed vehicle concept designs
- Create and quantifiably analyze reliability and functional block diagrams that reflect the proposed design
- Identify the optimum component repair policy by performing Level of Repair Analysis (LORA)
- Proactively work with design engineering to ensure Reliability and Maintainability issues are raised and addressed during the design phase
- Prepare material and present at design reviews and logistics engineering assessment reviews
- Analyze test and field failure data for input into design tradeoffs and in support of fielded fleets
- Develop Residual Useful Life (RUL) models for LAV components based on physics of failure, inservice maintenance and automotive CAN bus data
Working towards University Degree in a technical discipline
Experience working with python code, database familiarity
- Electrical or mechanical aptitude
A bias for working independently in a collaborative environment
Willingness to learn technical skills as part of a highly skilled team
An openness to learn something new every day
Ability to travel (5% Canada or 5% US & Intl) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
