As a key member of a multidisciplinary team and reporting to the Manager of Clinical Services at Provincial Campus-Based Care (PCBC), the Clinical Practice Specialist provides leadership and support in advancing trauma-informed clinical practices. This role is responsible for guiding and enhancing clinical practice at the regional level, while aligning with provincial priorities and emerging knowledge—particularly in the application of the Neurosequential Model (NM) of Therapeutics and trauma-informed care frameworks.
As a Clinical Practice Specialist, you will provide expert consultation to staff and leadership, with a primary focus on implementing the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) across PCBC programs. You will develop and monitor consistent NMT practices, engage directly with youth to model therapeutic strategies, and support staff in creating and applying individualized care plans.
This position requires a high level of skill in the areas of communication, collaboration and coordination.
Key Responsibilities Include (but Are Not Limited To)
- Applying cultural awareness and understanding of diverse belief systems, with a focus on First Nations and Indigenous practices
- Adhering to child intervention protocols and regional directives
- Implementing practice model priorities such as Signs of Safety and Lifelong Connections
Working within relevant legislation and policy frameworks, including but not limited to:
Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act
- Protection of Sexually Exploited Children Act
- Children First Act, School Act, Mental Health Act, Indian Act, Young Offenders Act, Prevention of Family Violence Act, Public Health Act, Drug-Endangered Children Act
Accreditation standards, regional policies, and PCBC procedures
Applying principles of project and change management
- Addressing the unique service delivery needs of Indigenous children, youth, and families
- Utilizing outcome measurement tools and evaluation frameworks to inform practice
- Demonstrated academic and theoretical training in child and adolescent development, family dynamics, trauma and its effects, mental health and substance use disorders, and indicators of child abuse, to support effective clinical assessment and intervention

Qualifications
Minimum Recruitment Standards
: A Master's degree in Psychology or Social Work and 1 year of related experience.
Equivalencies cannot be considered for this role due to the requirements for the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics certification program.
To Be Considered For This Position, Candidates Must Have
- Master of Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Clinical Social Work
- Registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW) is required for all social work graduates
- You must have a Class 5 Valid Driver's License
- Experience working with vulnerable youth
Preference Will Be Given To Those Who Have
- Current certification in First Aid with CPR, Suicide Intervention, and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention
- Knowledge of Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics
- Knowledge of Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act
- Conflict resolution and mediation experience
- Group facilitation experience
- Strong oral and written communication
- Ability to develop and present educational documents and assist in training
- Understanding of grief, loss, child development, trauma impacts, and Neurosequential Model (NM) of therapeutics

Hours of Work
: Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week (full-time)
Occasional travel is an expectation of the role to other Provincial Campus Based Care sites across the province.
