JOB SUMMARY
The Project Manager is responsible to organize, supervise and coordinating all aspects of the assigned project(s).

He/she shall collaborate daily with the onsite leadership to complete the work safely, on schedule, within the budget and to the specified quality of workmanship.

The Project Manager serves as Centurion's representative on the project and shall protect and promote Centurion's interests in all matters and to do whatever is reasonably necessary to execute his/her duties.


OBJECTIVES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget.
  • Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates.
  • Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established schedules.
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Lead the implementation of Centurion's safety and quality control programs.
  • Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients.
  • Hire and supervise the activities of subcontractors and subordinate staff.
  • To have a complete and thorough knowledge and understanding of the Contract Documents, the General Contract and the Subcontracts

REQUIRED SKILLS and PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Engineering Degree or Technical Diploma (Mechanical) is a requirement; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • A degree in Project Management or recognized designation, such as PMP, is an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in the Alberta energy, industrial construction and/or oil and gas industries is required.
  • Experience managing unit rate or lump sum contracts.
  • Experience managing a single large project or several projects simultaneously.
  • Experience as a construction supervisor or field superintendent is an asset.
  • Highly effective negotiation, diplomatic and conflict resolution skills
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work on location when required.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and sound judgment skills
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft word, Excel, and scheduling software (MS Projects, P6, Excel)
  • Must pass preemployment drug and alcohol testing including marijuana.
  • Must be fitforduty.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Must be immediately eligible/able to work in Canada.

TRAVEL & SCHEDULE

  • Willing to stay in camp accommodations if required.
  • Willing to travel.***
