Job Description:


This is a hybrid position based in downtown Toronto with the expectation to work in-office 3 days a week.

In this newly created role, the Vice President of Social Impact provides leadership, strategic direction, oversight, coordination, and priority setting for the fundraising, giving, philanthropy, charitable and employee engagement strategy for the giving programs of the organization.

The goal is to further the engagement and retention of current and prospective fund holders, while fostering employee engagement on social impact initiatives within the Navigatr Group.


The VP must be a sophisticated relationship‐builder who is able to adapt his or her communication style to work effectively with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders with multiple priorities, including the CEO, other members of the senior leadership team, as well as a diverse set of fund development prospects.

The Vice President of Social Impact will be hired by and reports directly to the CEO.

The main responsibilities of the position are working with the CEO to create development partnerships that increase the assets of the Navigatr, and market its services to prospective and current donors.

The VP has an important role in developing communications and marketing strategies as they relate to fund development.

As well as being a strong administrator, the VP will bring proven experience in driving employee engagement in the company's giving programs.

The VP will be an important member of Navigatr's senior management team.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support employee engagement programs across portfolio companies by coordinating employee participation and fundraising, in support of selected local charities including; Make-AWish, United Way, and other similar entities.
  • Develop fundraising programs by working with travel clients, and travel suppliers, in support of selected charities with global impact including; Nekton, Africa schools, and other similar entities.
  • Assist the CEO as necessary in other tasks that promote the visibility and reputation of Navigatr in the community.
  • Cultivate prospects and help solicit current or planned gifts in collaboration with the CEO, senior executives, and other key stakeholders.
  • Develop and monitor Navigatr's Groups fundraising development plan, including strategic goals and objectives to ensure appropriate, organizationally effective, and timely growth and the furtherance of the company's mission.
  • Create and lead overall resource development strategy for individuals, corporations, and other partners, including prospect cultivation, planned giving, and resource development events.
  • Communicate a positive image of the Navigatr Group that builds confidence and trust with stakeholders and the public. Works to build and maintain support for the organization at the highest levels through collaborative partnerships and visible leadership.
  • Seek out and develop innovative funding partnerships with organizations that further the goals and initiatives of the company.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree; Master's degree and/or CFRE desirable.
  • Minimum of five years of experience at the director level leading fundraising and charitable development efforts in an entrepreneurial nonprofit environment.
  • Effective public speaker and communicator who can handle presenting proposals and adapt her/his style to different audiences.
  • Passion and commitment to Navigatr's mission. Mature individual with ability to drive agenda forward by building strong internal partnerships with diverse groups of constituents.
