Description

Reporting into the Treasury Finance - Reporting & Analytics team, the key focus for the Financial Analyst role is to help deliver daily/ weekly and monthly reporting for the Treasury and Shared Services team.

The key focus for this role is to own the end-to-end process related to report creation, maintenance, data, and delivery of reports, which includes; reconciliations, analysis, commentary, and recommendations to key stakeholders.

Other responsibilities may include ad hoc reporting & analytics as required.


Key Functions:

Complete various financial reports in a timely and accurate fashion, to various stakeholders(Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury Operations) with differing goals and objectives
Complete reports for Cash Collections, Cash Payments, and Cash Position daily, while providing analysis on the impact for each report to the respective stakeholder
Generate Cash Requirement report that will be used to forecast cash needs for GFL that the Treasury Operations team will utilize
Assist in reconciliation of Accounts Payable, and Accounts receivable accounts where there are multiple forms of data and deep level reconciling is required
Assist in Aged Trial balance analysis for month end reporting and analysis on DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) & DPO (Days Payable Outstanding)
Communicate with internal departments and external parties in a professional fashion as to best deliver reporting and analytic based needs
Download bank files and monthly bank statements as needed, and pull large data sets meant for analysis
Other ad-hoc duties which may include reporting & analytics, data pulls, data scrubs, and breakdowns as needed
Willingness to use varying array of programs such as Workday, Kyriba, SAP, Great Plains, PowerBI, ThinkCell, TRUX, Tower, and various other software that is newly integrated into GFL to supplement reporting and analysis


Requirements:

Must have business/finance education background, CPA designation is an asset
2+ years of work experience required, preferably with reporting or data analytics
Ability to work with complex data sets, understand systems and data processing
Sharp problem-solving skills and eager to solve issues
Must be able to manage efficiently in a high-pressure environment
Detail oriented and highly organized, ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team and with different departments
Experience with Great Plains is an asset, but not required
Advanced Microsoft Excel
Flexibility to work additional hours as dictated by business needs
