The In-Patient Medicine Program at THP consists of a total of more than 360 beds across CVH & MH sites and is staffed by large interprofessional teams who support the care of complex medicine patients within the Mississauga-Halton LHIN.

Reporting directly to the Director, In-Patient Medicine Program the Clinical Educator is an integral member of the Program's Leadership team.

The goal of this leadership role is to build capacity in interprofessional teams to deliver the highest quality of care by embedding best practice standards into the daily delivery of care.

This role requires a transformational leader who is passionate about patient safety and improvement, coaching teams, and possess an in depth understanding of standards of care.

They will create an environment of curiosity, creativity and continuous learning.

Key Qualifications:

***- Current registration with the College of Nurse of Ontario and in good standing

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum five years clinical experience
  • Experience working with older adults with complex medical and surgical issues
  • Previous experience in developing programs and services to embed leading practices in daily care
  • Experience delivering training and educational programs as a coach
  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Understanding of adult education/training techniques and ability to prepare and teach in both classroom and clinical settings
  • Ability to coach, mentor and provide feedback while fostering a positive work culture
  • Strong critical thinking, decision making, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Commitment to and experience in quality improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to multi task, prioritize effectively deliver to deadline
  • Excellent performance and attendance record required
