PERFORMANCE PERIOD
- Full-time role
- Initial 1-year contract, potentially renewable
REMUNERATION
- Commencing at $65,000 CAD, subject to experience

- Community Fund Coordinator may need to attend one in-person meeting a week at the JCLS Project Office in Burnaby, BC
REPORTING STRUCTURE
- Directly reports to the Community Fund Manager and CEO of the JCLS Project Office
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Aid in preparing, drafting, and managing grant agreements for Community Fund initiatives within JCLS' diverse projects
- Assist in creating written communications, memos, reports, and guides as necessary
- Record and summarize meeting minutes
- Offer short-term operational and administrative aid to JCLS Office and associated programs when needed
- Fulfill other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience & Skills Needed
- Several years of experience in report and grant agreement writing
- Proficient in written and verbal English communication
- Strong copy editing and written correspondence capabilities
- Ability to evaluate community project descriptions and establish contract milestones and timelines
- Proven track record of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Exceptional organizational skills, particularly in using Google Suite
- High attention to detail. Cover letters to be addressed to 'HR Team and CEO of the Japanese Canadian Legacies Society'
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Solution-oriented mindset
- Capacity to work effectively autonomously
- Experience collaborating in a small team in a dynamic environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, when necessary
- Previous involvement or interest in the Japanese Canadian community
- Previous nonprofit sector experience or community-related engagement
Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed-term contract
Contract Duration: 12 months
