As the Associate Vice President of Group Retirement & Savings (GRS) Sales you will head and act as an empowering leader for the Business Development and Client Management, and hold accountabilities for the GRS business growth and client retention of Co-operators Life Insurance Co.

Operating with a customer-centric lens for our clients and distribution partners, the AVP, Group Retirement & Savings Sales will represent the voice of our clients through their input and direction into GRS wealth investment business strategy, priorities, and projects that drive our competitive position in the market.


How you will create impact:


  • Providing seniorlevel input to the Group Retirement & Savings wealth investment strategic plans with focuses on the execution of sales, retention, growth, and profit; additionally supporting Sales team with the development and implementation of their strategic sales plans.
  • With holding accountabilities for driving GRS investment revenue growth, you will supportively and motivationally empower the Sales team to attract new clients and increase revenue from existing clients (ie. distribution partners, managing general agents (MGA's), brokers, consultants, and credit unions).
  • Creating and managing sales and account management processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory, industry guidelines, and corporate policies.
  • Providing leadership support and directly participating with the GRS wealth investment Sales team in building and maintaining relationships with distribution partners, including brokers, consultants, credit unions, and the Cooperators multiline exclusive agency network.
  • Actively managing existing client relationships (plan sponsors) to drive retention.
  • Providing input to product development, technology, and marketing plans.
  • Leading the delivery of plan member education sessions and associated content.
  • Leading and engaging your team to deliver strategic objectives through effective coaching and mentoring, identifying and developing emerging talent, and fostering an innovative, collaborative, and agile culture.

To join our team:


  • You have 710 years of related experience, including experience in Sales and Client Relationship Management leadership.
  • You hold or are open to obtaining Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designations.
  • You are knowledgeable in Group Retirement & Savings wealth investment products, pricing, contracts, guidelines, standards, system capabilities, administrative practices, and service offering.
  • You are an experienced people leader, wellskilled in leading business development/sales and client management teams that have successfully achieved highlevel of client satisfaction while delivering revenue growth and achieving retention goals.

What you need to know:


  • You are required to have your own vehicle, valid driver's license and insurance.
  • You will travel frequently.
  • This role involves direct contact with clients and/or service providers in their environment.
