Job Summary:

Responsible for analysing quality manufacturing information and feedback analyses to sales, manufacturing, and engineering on effectiveness of the quality system.

Additionally, this position will carry out key steps in establishing and maintaining the company and plant quality system.


Knowledge and Skills (Education):


  • Excellent communication skills; customer service skills
  • Courses in inventory control is an asset.
years of experience in similar role; experience in automotive manufacturing environment

  • Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong Coordination and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve issues from a variety of known options.

Major Accountabilities:


  • Oversee Inventory control functions.
  • Cycle counts WIP, Finished goods and Components,
  • Investigate Inventory Discrepancies, determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Train and support other departments to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Report Daily on inventory discrepancies that need to be escalated.
  • Work with production and purchasing to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Work with scheduling and the material planner to ensure on time delivery of materials.
  • Work with engineering on BOM updates / errors that are impacting inventory accuracy.
  • Audit scrap reporting procedures to maintain accurate inventory.
  • Take leadership role in quarterly physical inventories.
  • Provide direction to other employees to ensure accurate production reporting.
  • Ensure that raw materials and product are dispersed and consumed based on FIFO.
  • Support the purchasing of production materials, operating supplies, manufacturing equipment and services.
  • Review inventory level of purchased material are within the department/company goals for inventory turns.
  • Work with buyer to ensure supplies are meeting targets as set out by the company.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, productivity, quality, customer service, cost reduction, safety, and housekeeping.
  • Abide by all company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human resources policies, and Martinrea Employee Handbook
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards and legislation including Environmental Legislation, O. Reg 851 for Industrial Establishments, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (with emphasis on Section 28, (1) (a)(d), (2) (a)(c)).

Working Conditions:


  • 70% Office environment, 30% Plant floor (PPE required)

Health and Safety:


  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
