The Site HSE Manager is expected to manage the overall function of the HSE Program and is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the system, ensuring its implementation and upgrading in response to new legislation, technology, and industry improvements.
- Act as the liaison person between the Company and the COR program
- Participate on the Company HSE Steering Committee, sharing best practices and continuously improving the Company HSE Program
- Oversee and administer the implementation of the company HSE Program.
- Maintain district records and statistics in all areas of HSE.
- Engage staff in the development and review of safe work practices and safe job procedures.
- Organize and participate in project audits to ensure uniform delivery or program.
- Proactively manager worker's compensation claims and assist the HSE personnel in the monitoring of modified work claims.
- Issue HSE bulletins, arrange special HSE meetings, and undertake HSE initiatives as required to support the HSE program.
- Assist in the planning and startup of new projects with respect to HSE issues.
- Monitor changes in HSE regulations and disseminate appropriate information to all District staff.
- Liaise with client and government HSE representatives and management.
- Senior Management and Management is required to visit work sites in accordance with the Key Performance Indicators for each division.
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation and/or CRSP or equivalent designation
- 5+ years' HSE experience, preferably in an industrial environment
- Valid Drivers License and Clean Driver's Abstract
- End-User Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry & Monitor, Standard First Aid considered an asset
- Available to work out of town based on project assignments
- Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups
- Ability to remain objective and maintain a factual perspective when dealing with questions and inquiries
- Sense of urgency and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities, capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, problemsolving skills, and a high degree of accuracy with attention to detail
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to deliver a message to a large group
- Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude
- Understand the dynamics of working with unionize and nonunionized trades.
