Introduction
Provincial Services administers income benefits and shelter assistance programs and health supports throughout the province.

The branch provides assessment and processing of subsidies for the following units:
Child care Subsidy, Income Supplement Program, Disability and Health Supports Unit, Health Services.


Conditions of Employment:


  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must have a satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector search.
  • Must have a satisfactory Adult Abuse Registry Check.
  • Must have a satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check.

Qualifications:


  • Essentail:
  • Experience working with the general public, providing service to diverse clients.
  • Experience determining eligibility and explaining legislation, policies or procedures to others.
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure with accuracy in an environment with competing demands.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively with the public, team members, managers, other staff and agencies.
  • Effective problem solving skills with the ability to manage conflict in a calm and respectful manner.
  • Effective written communication skills.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently with high degree of initiative.

Desired:

  • Knowledge of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
