    TheWarehouse Supervisor provides leadership in the fast-paced environment ofNAIT's bookstore operations. Reporting to the Manager of Retail Resources, theWarehouse Supervisor provides daily direction to warehouse staff, ensuring thatpolicies and procedures are adhered to, and that goods and services are movedthrough our warehouse in a timely manner. The position also addresses questions andconcerns from department staff, customers, and courier staff. This is a verycollaborative role in a team environment.     KeyResponsibilities:

  • Providing cleardirection to receiving/warehouse staff regarding priorities and tasks P
  • Leading area team toensure timeliness, accuracy and adherence to policies and procedures and keymetrics such as labour or inventory adjustment costs.
  • Ensuring that productis received in a timely manner and expedites merchandising of same inanticipation of customer needs
  • Providing stockroomoversight for inventory organization and space optimization
  • Applying a retailmindset to all aspects of work
  • Supporting theonboarding, training, and proactive coaching of warehouse staff
  • Role modelling accuracyand support for departmental policies, procedures, and expectations
  • Completingadministrative duties, including processing packing slips, maintaininginventory records, addressing discrepancies, and ensuring accuracy of invoicesto purchase orders
  • Organizing floor stockand recommending shelf layout options
  • Flagging inventory thatis potentially 'stale' for the Manager and buying team
  • Skills& Abilities:

  • A positive, respectful attitude with skills in teamwork and customerservice
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail, planning and prioritizing skills, the ability to actwith urgency to meet deadlines, and organizational skills are strong assets
  • A strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and previousexperience with a Retail Inventory Management system
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts and hours to support business need
  • The ability to lift 50 lbs (boxes of product), stand/walk for a majorityof each shift, plus a willingness and ability to use a pallet jack
  • Qualifications:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience working in a leadership capacity with a retailfocus
  • 2+ years of experience working in a retail stockroom environment;equivalencies may be considered
  • Completion of High School (Grade 12) is required; post-secondaryeducation in supply chain management or business administration would be anasset
  • Remuneration : $45, $56,284.02 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification –Stockkeeper ll).

    Thisposition is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE)Collective Agreement.
