    We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Intermediate Optomechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. As an Intermediate Optomechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and optimization of optical systems and components. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver innovative solutions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in optics and contribute to cutting-edge technologies.

    Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop optical systems, components, and devices, considering factors such as performance, efficiency, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct simulations, modeling, and analysis to evaluate optical designs and predict system behavior, utilizing software tools such as Zemax, Code V, or equivalent.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including industrial designers, electrical engineers, and software engineers, to ensure seamless integration of optical components into larger systems.
  • Perform experimental testing and characterization of optical systems to verify performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Optimize existing optical designs to enhance performance, efficiency, and reliability, utilizing advanced techniques such as aberration correction and optimization algorithms.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to select and procure optical components and materials that meet design specifications.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during the production and assembly of optical systems, ensuring adherence to design requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in optics technology and industry trends to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Document design specifications, test procedures, and experimental results in detailed reports.
  • Contribute to the intellectual property portfolio of the company through invention disclosures and patent applications.
  • Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optics, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in designing and developing optical systems or components, preferably in a professional or research setting.
  • Proficiency in optical design software such as Zemax, Code V, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of optical principles, including geometric optics, wave optics, and physical optics.
  • Experience with optical simulation tools, such as Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) or Finite Element Method (FEM) software, is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of optical materials, coatings, and fabrication processes.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to optics, such as ISO 10110 and MIL-PRF-13830B.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret experimental data using tools such as MATLAB, Python, or similar.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex optical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
