Financial Analyst. Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, and serving as an integral member of the finance team, the Financial Analyst will be working closely with the finance team and operations to provide analysis on period end results, prepare financial forecasts, and assist with annual budget and strategic planning activities. The financial analyst will also prepare biweekly claims on long-term contracts. The Financial Analyst will be expected to bring energy and creativity to the identification of financial analysis and reporting opportunities. The role requires a strong attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders in a fast paced, high growth organization.


Qualifications:


  • Education:
o Post-secondary Business Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
- o CPA Accounting Designation or working towards CPA Designation considered an asset

  • Experience: 15 years of experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Skills
  • Experience combining data from multiple sources
  • Cognos, Cognos TM1 and Tableau experience considered an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to read and interpret data
  • Ability to plan and execute responsibilities with mínimal direction
  • Selfmotivated to achieve above average results
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and growing environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work with and influence a wide range of individuals at all levels in the organization
  • Shipbuilding, large project, or manufacturing knowledge considered an asset
  • All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)._

Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and prepare various financial reporting products for internal and external customers
  • Prepare progress claim packages for longterm projects and liaise with operational and financial personnel to gather all required information
  • Analyze and monitor financial results, incorporating variance analyses and identify risks and opportunities
  • Participate in the strategic planning, annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and quarterly review processes
  • Provide valueadded financial and business partnering support
  • Ad hoc analysis, reporting and special projects as required
