  • BFL CANADA is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join the team in our Vancouver office

    The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the quality, reliability, and functionality of software products developed by the BFL Software Engineering team. In addition, the QA Engineer will assist the software engineering team in identifying, documenting, and help resolve defects and issues on products developed, ensuring that it meets specifications, functions correctly, and delivers a positive user experience.

    Your Day as a Quality Assurance Engineer

  • Defect identification and prevention using test plans and test cases.
  • Design test cases based on specified requirements, reviewing project documentation (user stories), and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Execute the test cases to validate that the software meets the intended functionality.
  • Identify user story inputs and outputs and validate the behavior against expected outcomes.
  • Creation and management of test data.
  • Assess performance responsiveness, and scalability of software under different conditions.
  • Assists and provide feedback for UI, navigation and overall user experience on the product.
  • Design test plans for regression testing, smoke and other testing types.
  • Create test scripts to automate repetitive and time-consuming testing tasks.
  • Provide feedback, suggest process enhancements, and participate in post-mortem analyses to learn from defects and improve future releases.
  • Develop standards and processes to support future QA initiatives.
  • Direct and manage in deploying software products from UAT to production.
  • Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.
  • Take an active role in cross-departmental projects when needed.
  • Our Ideal Candidate

  • Experience with Azure DevOps
  • Knowledgeable in testing methodologies and concepts like TDD/TLD
  • Strong time management, communication and organizational skills
  • Work well under pressure and follow procedures accurately
  • Work well with others throughout the organization, independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with Selenium and/or Cucumber
  • Experience with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access)
  • Source control working experience
  • Experience with Agile Practices and Framework
  • The expected salary for this role ranges from $70,000 to $90,000. Annual salary will be determined by factors including prior experience, location, business segment, and relevance of the candidate's skills to the role.
