Within the mission and philosophy of CMHA TVAMHS and the values of Peer Support Canada, the Drop-In Coordinator will utilize their experience and skills to support individuals who access the Woodstock office drop-in space.
This includes providing and facilitating opportunities for leisure activities and socialization, constructively managing conflict as it arises, and providing information and support to effectively respond to Drop-In participants' requests and presenting needs.
You will also prepare beverages and snacks as required, handle cash transactions for the purchase of these items, and ensure that our drop-in space is welcoming so as to support and strengthen the wellbeing of individuals served.

WHAT WE'RE OFFERING:

What you'll be making - Starting rate for this role is
$20.61 per hour (Level 1 of the
Program Support I Grid);
- Successful external applicants will start at Level 1, with grid progression based on seniority up to Level 8, $26.54 per hour
- Internal applicants will be placed on the grid based on their seniority
When you'll work:
- Casual shifts; Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 10am3pm
Your pension plan
- Immediately eligible for optional enrolment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)
HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING A DIFFERENCE:
- Provide support and oversee the Social Drop-In component of the Oxford Peer Support Program
- Be active and present in the Drop-In program area by engaging with the participants and being responsive to their requests and inquiries ensuring excellent customer service
- Lead scheduled social activities and participate when appropriate
- Prepare coffee, snacks, etc. as required, oversee the kitchen area including cleanup of the kitchen and Drop-In program area
- Handle transactions for coffee, chips, chocolate bars, etc.,
- Track inventory of food and supplies and provide regular reports to Manager or designate
- Work together with program participants, Peer Support Coordinators and other CMHA staff to ensure a positive, recovery/wellness focused and safe environment
- Address and/or seek out support to assist with addressing conflict resolution
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality of individuals
- Carry out the policies and procedures of CMHA as set forth in the Policy and Procedure Manual

We require the following qualifications:
_**- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent (
Primary proof of credentials will be required during the hiring process, i.e.
an original degree/diploma/certificate or official transcript; for ongoing education, an unofficial transcript will be accepted):
- Lived experience with mental health and/or addictions
- Willingness to selectively share personal information that is relevant to a situation, and for reasons that are beneficial to the client
- Strong belief in an individual's right to selfdetermination; to choose their own unique path to recovery
- Ability to effectively provide empathetic and supportive direction
- Active listening skills
- Computer skills
- Ability to attend work regularly
We prefer the following qualifications:
_**- Peer Support training
- Peer Support Canada Certification
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- ASIST or safeTALK
- Safe Food Handling Certification
- Current CPR and First Aid
- Crisis Prevention Institute Non-Violent Crisis intervention training
- Conflict Resolution Training
- Previous Peer Support an experience an asset
