Title : Client Service Clerk

Employment Status : Co-op/Summer Student (2 Months)

Salary Band : $ 21.00 /hour

In this role, you will :

Provides customer service and volunteer support to HELP.

Provides support to enhance the profile of the Canadian Red Cross in the community.

Maintains quality control by ensuring Red Cross quality assurance standards are met.

Response to and transfer calls on a multi-line telephone.

Contacts clients about outstanding equipment.

Assists with paperwork and filing as required.

Provides support to other Red Cross programs if the need arises.

What we are looking for :

Completion of secondary education (Grade 12).

Training in-office procedures and customer service, a minimum of one (1) year of job-related experience, or a combination of education and experience.

Excellent computer skills including data entry and database skills; switchboard experience will be considered an asset.

Experience working with diverse populations and an understanding of cultural issues.

Experience working with volunteers is an asset.

Fluency in English is required, French is an asset.

Strong interpersonal skills, ability, and flexibility to manage multiple priorities.

Able to physically lift and carry 50 pounds.

Working conditions :

The typical work week will be daytime hours from Monday to Friday and a minimum of 35 hours per week.

The majority of the work is performed in an office environment.

The candidate must be between 18 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment.

The candidate must be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*. International students are not eligible.
