    Powerline Technician

    KPC Power Electrical Ltd. "KPC Power" is a progressive, privately-owned, high-voltage electrical contractor located in Ajax, Ontario.

    We specialize in high-voltage substation maintenance, construction, and retrofits. KPC Power houses all specialties internally to professionally implement all work, ensuring complete customer satisfaction.

    Dedicated to improving the reliability of each power system we work on, KPC Power dramatically reducing unwanted interruptions. Our work focuses primarily on the utility, industry, and institutional sectors, industries where stability and reliability of power is extremely critical.

    WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

    KPC Power is looking for a motivated and experienced Powerline Technician for our growing business. The Powerline Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining, repairing, and constructing electrical power systems, underground and overhead infrastructure inspection programming.

    Responsibilities:

    • Inspection and maintenance of electrical power systems, including overhead and underground lines, transformers, switches, insulators, and other associated equipment.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems, such as power outages, line faults, and equipment malfunctions, to restore service as quickly as possible.
    • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures is paramount. Powerline Technicians work with high-voltage power lines and equipment, so they must follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
    • Work closely with project managers, coordinators, and other professionals to ensure the efficient operation and expansion of electrical power systems.
    • Maintain records of work performed, including inspections, repairs, and equipment replacements, and may generate reports for management or regulatory purposes.

    Educational Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Journeyperson Lineperson/Powerline Technician Certification (Red Seal is preferred)

    Experience:

    • Minimum 5 – 10 years hands-on experience

    Skills:

    • Class AZ/DZ driver's license
    • Lift Truck Certification
    • Work Protection Code Certificate
    • CPR/First Aid Certification
    • Understand Proficiency
    • IHSA Safety Training and Updates

    Working Conditions:

    • Field environment with travel to job sites
