We are currently looking for a Team Lead - Day Camp to join our team of committed professionals.

This full-time summer contract position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario's Durham location in Sudbury.

Under the leadership of the Manager of Day Camps & Community Development, the Team Lead / Site Director - Day Camp is responsible for assisting with the planning and development of day camp programs and services according to YMCA policies, procedures, and standards and ensuring participant satisfaction.

The Team Lead - Day Camp is an on-site lead and is required to maintain a positive relationship with the host site.

LOCATION:
Sudbury, ON


RATE OF PAY:
$ $21.00 per hour


HOURS: 40 per week

Major Responsibilities

  • Participate in program delivery schedule
  • Coordinate and schedule activities, programs and special events
  • Respond to inquiries regarding programs promptly
  • Be a positive role model for all program participants
  • Manage the summer program supplies, request additional items and ensure all supplies/equipment is stored properly
  • Communicate with program participant guardians and staff
  • Assist with scheduling staff and volunteers
  • Complete incident reports for submission to the Manager of Day Camp and Community Development
  • Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed in a timely manner
  • Assist with recruitment and selection
  • Assist in providing support to staff and volunteers
  • Ensure that all Association safety standards are met or exceeded
  • Incorporate SAM Standards into daily responsibilities
  • Build relationships with members and guests, and promote the YMCA as a charitable organization

Qualifications:


  • Possession of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
  • National Lifeguard certification (NLS) in good standing (where applicable)
  • Possession of Pleasure Craft Operator Card(where applicable)
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a supervisory or similar role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR C
  • Current and satisfactory Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
