    • Marketing Generalist 17: Salaries typically range from $84,698 to $112,931 annually, based on qualifications and experiences.

    Location:

    • Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week. (subject to change)
    • This role must be performed from EDC's headquarters in Ottawa.

    The Marketing team is seeking an Initiative Manager on the Demand Generation & Activation (DG&A) team. You will help lead the developmentandexecution of marketing campaigns to drive demand through events, sponsorships and account based marketing (ABM). Collaborating with other groups across the business, we aim to generate leads and accelerate the sales pipeline of Canadian exporters interested in accessing our suite of solutions: knowledge, connections and financial solutions, with the objective of driving financial customer acquisition and helping meet EDC's business objectives.

    As a DG&A Initiative Manager you will be responsible for collaborating on strategic direction, then planning, executing, evaluating and iterating on initiatives specifically targeting the Western region of Canada.

    The successful candidate will work closely with the regional business teams to manage a portfolio of events, partnerships/sponsorships and ABM campaigns for the specified markets. In collaboration with the events marketing agency, creative marketing agency, key partners and other groups across the organization, the DG&A Initiative Manager will be responsible for bringing marketing insights to the design and execution of initiatives in an agile environment.

    What you will be doing

    • Proactively consult with internal and external stakeholders to identify needs, gaps and select the opportunities that best contribute to corporate objectives.
    • In conjunction with your leader and the business teams, intake and prioritize initiatives based on objectives and allocated budgets.
    • Develop and implement integrated sponsorship/partnership initiatives that contribute to lead generation and pipeline acceleration.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders and partner organizations.
    • Negotiate with partners to obtain best value for money, ensure proper documentation is in place to support purchases and promptly process invoices.
    • Develop and execute high impact EDC-led or co-hosted events designed to generate qualified leads, create targeted engagement, and support account level activation.
    • Manage event logistics and deliverables alongside agency partners, ensuring alignment to ABM and demand generation strategies.
    • Recommend event and content topics that align with target account needs and commercial priorities, and secure relevant speakers to support engagement goals.
    • Continually monitor, analyze, and evaluate success, including scorecard and dashboard updates, data tracking, results reporting, to demonstrate impact and determine opportunities for improvement.
    • Leverage CRM insights to analyze lead flow, engagement, and contribution to pipeline from initiatives you manage.
    • Write and edit customer-focused marketing content in support of your initiatives.
    • Provide advice and mentoring to junior marketing employees on best practices and protocols.

    Key Competencies

    • Strong customer focus with a deep understanding of digital journeys, intent signals, and demand generation best practices.
    • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate insights into actionable demand‑generation plans.
    • Effective influencing and negotiation skills (external and/or internal)
    • Proven organizational, multi-tasking and project management skills
    • Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end execution of events, partnerships, and integrated ABM campaigns.
    • Strong collaboration, networking and relationship management skills
    • Ability to produce and edit content for marketing material

    What we are looking for

    • Bachelor's degree in business or communications or equivalent combination of education and work experience
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in event marketing and/or demand generation marketing
    • Experience in relationship management (preferably with industry and business organizations)
    • Experience with event logistics and project management
    • Excellent communication skills in English (written, verbal, presentation)
    • Solid knowledge of MS Office Software systems (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
