About This Opportunity:

Emergency Medicine physicians wanted for shift coverage in community hospitals in the Western Zone.

This is a great opportunity for a family medicine and emergency medicine physicians to join the medical teams in Middleton, Digby, Yarmouth, Shelburne, Liverpool and Lunenburg.

Requirements are up to date ACLS and PALS, ATLS is a preferred qualification.

In addition, there is an opportunity to participate in teaching medical students and family practice residents from Dalhousie Medical School.


Responsibilities:

Duties include full scope of practice as an emergency physician providing care to patients within the zone


The physician will be responsible to the Zone Department Head for Emergency Medicine for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice and will operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.


Expected Hours:

Qualifications:

- all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- all family physician must have membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- all specialists must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
- membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
- all applicants must have a current PALS Certification
- all applicants must have a current ATLS Certification
- current ACLS Certification is a preferred qualification
