In Business since 1919 and still growing, Arrow is a leader in bulk commodity hauling, reload operations, freight management, logistics, consulting, and technology with operations throughout Canada and the U.S.

This growing Arrow division is managed out of the warehouse includes the Pneumatic Trucks division, Flat Deck Trucking, Warehouse Operations and the Container Yard.

The warehouse encompasses 230,000 square feet with product shipping throughout Western Canada.

In order to support Arrow's growing transportation network and offer additional outdoor storage, a container/pipe yard was implemented in June of this year to handle oilfield tubulars, line pipe, and other industrial commodities.

We are looking for an experienced

General Labourer to join our pipe/container yard and our warehouse in Edmonton.

Responsibilities:

As general labourer at our Alberta Reload Logistics Division, you will:

Assist with general yard clean up and maintenance.
Perform manual labour tasks and support operations.
Transloading bagged product.
General rigging and shunting trailers pending certification/training.
Operate as a rigger while destuffing containers.
Operate as a signal person while loading trailers.
Unload materials consisting of a variety of dry bulk products.
Perform quality and quantity checks of materials.
Work in adherence to all safe work practices, procedures, as well as all regulatory requirements.
Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of yard, shop, department, or work crew.
Other duties as assigned by manager.

You Possess:

Previous experience with rigging & lifting equipment.
Previous experience on forklifts is an asset.
Previous experience on a shunt truck is an asset.
Previous warehouse experience is an asset.
A positive team attitude.
A strong safety mindset.
Ability to climb ladders, throw rail cables and lift 50lbs.
Ability to work outside in all weather conditions (snow, rain, subfreezing temps, heat, wind).
Solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
