The Rotman Commerce program is offered jointly by the Rotman School of Management and the Faculty of Arts and Science.

The Student Life portfolio is broadly charged with supporting a diverse range of students and developing co-curricular programming and activities that enrich the student community and support the development of relevant skills such as teamwork and collaboration, leadership, and communications through applied and experiential learning opportunities.


As the Student Life Program Coordinator, you will play a critical role in supporting and enhancing hands-on opportunities for Rotman Commerce students to achieve their academic, personal and professional potential through experiential learning and development.

Working closely with the Assistant Director, you will help plan, promote, implement, and evaluate a wide range of programs and initiatives aimed at developing the skills required of undergraduate business students.

The position requires a self-starter with impeccable organizational and planning skills who is enthusiastic about student learning and development and is equipped to engage with a number of constituenciesand a varied student body.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Conceptualizing, organizing and executing event activities; determining logístical details and activities for events and/or programming; managing event space bookings for various student groups; promoting events and programs to students
  • Conducting detailed analysis on program efficiency and student learning outcomes to inform program planning activities
  • Coordinating communication between student groups and the appropriate Rotman Commerce units or personnel; serving as a liaison between student groups and campus facilities management to ensure proper utilization of event spaces and adherence to policies
  • Recruiting and training student learning support mentors; actively engage with student leaders to gather feedback to improve processes and policies that affect student groups
  • Advising student groups on the development of clubs and societies; providing support and guidance to student groups in organizing successful events, including logístical planning and troubleshooting
  • Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials
  • Maintaining information on digital platforms; maintaining accurate records of event bookings, communications, and resolutions for reference and future planning
  • Providing front reception desk coverage on a rotating basis

Essential Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum four (4) years recent and related experience providing support and information to students, advising student groups/clubs, administering mentorship and/or leadership programs, developing extracurricular programming and activities, event planning, promotion and implementation, and managing records and databases
  • Experience working in the postsecondary environment required
  • Experience researching best practices in community engagement, experiential education, program assessment and evaluation
  • Experience using learning platforms such as Canva (Quercus) and managing cocurricular records
  • Knowledge of business education
  • Knowledge of marketing andoutreach strategies to effectively engage students
  • Understanding of the pedagogy and practice of experiential education, including learning outcomes and assessments
  • Intercultural competency and experience working in culturally diverse environments
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Possess a high level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across
