The City of Selkirk is in search of an Urban Forestry and Horticulture Labourer to join their team for the summer.Perform general labour duties related to urban forestry, horticulture and naturalization initiatives.
- Prune trees and shrubs.
- Duties may include tree removals gardening tasks watering plants and trees weeding flower beds waste removal planting seed sowing carry out work within public parks natural areas playgrounds athletic fields municipal building grounds other green spaces safely operate variety hand tools small equipment weed trimmers push mowers roto tillers chainsaws pole saws hedge trimmers motorized equipment operate pick-up trucks transport materials as required utilize technology computers tablets cell phones communicate effectively complete minor administrative tasks use City's tree inventory software conduct inspections update records as trees planted maintained removed perform pre-trip inspections routine checks minor servicing cleaning basic maintenance equipment vehicles report maintenance needs safety concerns Manager Mechanic assist training supporting employees assigned.
