Vehicle Operators
You will operate heavier trucks to transport goods and materials over urban, interurban and provincial routes. You will maintain in good standings a proper valid license and any endorsements required by law. You will work under a dispatcher, but your supervisor will be the Operations Manager.

Main Duties:

As a Driver you will perform some or all of these duties:

Operate and drive a motor vehicle to transport goods and materials to various destinations.
Oversee all aspects of vehicles, such as condition of equipment, loading and unloading and safety and security of cargo.
Perform pretrip inspection of vehicle systems and equipment such as tires, lights, brakes and cargo area.
Perform roadside load securement checks when required.
Record cargo information, distance traveled, fuel consumption and other information in log book or daily manifest as required.
Communicate with dispatch and other drivers using twoway radio.
May transport hazardous products or dangerous goods.
Maintain a high level of integrity while dealing with customers/ vendors and while driving company vehicles.
Abide by all company policies and safety regulations.
You will maintain the highest level of housekeeping of your assigned unit and storage area.

Employment Requirements:

Onthejob training will be provided.
A valid class 5 driver's license is required as well as any other requirements by law.
Air brake endorsement (Q) is required for drivers who operate vehicles equipped with air brakes.
One year of safe driving experience is required.
Eligibility for bonding.
You will undergo some informal onthejob training.
Transportation of dangerous goods (TDG) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certifications are required for all drivers. Training is provided.
