What YOU will be doing:


Financial Management:


  • Coordinate financial activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, special projects accounting, financial planning, and reporting.
  • Financial reporting up to but not including financial statements.
  • Manual calculation of commissions payable.
  • Final accountability for all regulatory remittances.
  • Responsible for all banking activity including foreign exchange.
  • Assist in the preparation of the operating budget in accordance with the requirements of the company. Analyze variable costs and make budget adjustments as appropriate.
  • Investigate variances in budgets, reporting, internal controls, and general accounting; deploy measures to resolve variances.
  • Take responsibility for all aspects of the audit function in the organization and develop auditing techniques to meet changing needs.

Staff Management:


  • Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to subordinate employees regularly and as necessary.
  • Provide employee training, ensuring that all applicable compliance requirements are met.
  • Act as backup to daily activities as volume dictates.
  • Accounting, Order Management and IT staff report to this position.
  • Plan the department's workload and flow.
  • Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and delegating work accordingly.

Administration:


  • Responsible for the overall administrative functions to ensure efficient and consistent operations as the organization grows.
  • Work with IT staff to develop and implement new processes and systems that increase financial and operational efficiencies.
  • Develop and update organization policies and procedures, as necessary.

What YOU bring to the table:

  • Degree or an advanced degree in business administration, management, finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a management role
  • Experience in budgeting, accounting, finance and operations
  • Working knowledge of MS Dynamics, Acumatica, and ADP is an asset
  • Able to lead a team and achieve results
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret financial documents and spreadsheets. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint
  • Worked well under pressure and makes deadlines
  • Worked effectively in an entrepreneurial, collaborative environment, and is able to direct and work in harmony with a diverse group of highly motivated and capable individuals
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to meticulously handle tasks, maintain accuracy, and produce highquality work
  • Demonstrated relationshipbuilding skills
  • Solid judgment and critical thinking skills
  • Highly organized and ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Willing and able to exercise the authority entrusted in order to accomplish assigned duties and responsibilities
