Job Summary

RBC Leadership Development Program - 2024


The goal of the RBC Leadership Development Program is to form a pipeline of talent and cultivate future leaders for RBC.

This is a two-year rotational program that allows you the opportunity to enhance your professional skills by completing four, 6-month rotations.

Explore the challenges of working on key initiatives and complex business issues requiring strategic thinking, innovation, and strong analytical skills.

Work with leaders while developing an understanding of the importance of collaboration and how you can make a difference. We don't just want you to be part of our future - we want you to help shape it


As an Associate in the
RBC Leadership Development Program, you will join one of five streams: Enterprise, CFO Group, CAE Group, (Internal Audit), Personal & Commercial Banking or Group Risk Management.

Following the program's completion, you are expected to continue your career path by obtaining a role within the same stream you are hired for.


What will you do?

  • Each rotation will offer three, specific, challenging goals.
  • You will have ownership and accountability from the first day in the program.
  • Some of the tasks you may be involved with include projects, key initiatives, strategic planning, data analysis, creating presentations, creating dashboards, regular month end or quarterly business as usual tasks etc.
  • Based on the principle that leaders learn best from experience, you will learn about the diverse, multifaceted, global organization of RBC
  • You will have challenging opportunities to grow your career and broaden your knowledge of RBC.
  • Currently a master's level student who will graduate before the start of the program in January or July of 202
  • You have
    37 years of professional and continuous work experience.
  • Proactive, take initiative, drive change and aim to provide solutions.
  • Selfmanaged with the ability to work independently, with little direction.
  • Proven leadership experience (i.e., at school, at work, in the community, etc.)
  • Confident yet humble; ready to learn & grow; open and receptive to feedback.
  • Strong communication skills; willingness to speak up and listen to diverse perspectives.
  • Positive and cando attitude (i.e., "what can I do for RBC?")
  • Collaborative; team player
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and deal with constant change
  • Curiosity and a thirst for continuous learning and innovation
  • Aptitude to embrace and leverage emerging technologies

Additional requirements for CFO and Group Risk Management streams:


CFO Group

  • Advanced technical skills
  • Excel, financial modeling, Tableau, VBA & macros
  • Innovative and Creative
  • Considered an asset: CPA, CFA, CA; Python; Data Analytical skills

Group Risk Management:


  • Analytical with strong quantitative skills
  • Advanced technical skills
- financial modeling; macros; VBA; Python; SQL, SAS, Tableau; R; Matlab;

  • Considered an asset: Designations FRM, CFA
