Position Overview:


Trillium Health Partners is seeking an experienced Planning and Design Project Lead to join its Capital Planning and Redevelopment portfolio.

Reporting to the Director, Planning and Design (Queensway Health Centre (Q) site), the Planning and Design Project Lead will be responsible for supporting THP's Broader Redevelopment Project (BRP) at Q site.

Leveraging your experience in the planning and design of health capital projects, the Project Lead will function as the main point of contact between the Prime Consultant and the project team and advocate for quality design that supports THP's mission.


Q Site project is envisioned to create a new post-acute inpatient tower at Queensway Health Centre including clinical and non-clinical support programs.


Responsibilities

  • Key point of contact with Prime consultant's architectural and interior design teams;
  • Lead contact with Prime consultant for all items related to clinical and nonclinical planning, building and interior design, drawing and specification development;
  • Oversee the architectural design progression and ensure alignment with overall site strategy and priorities;
  • Lead THP project representative at user engagement sessions and speciality workshops;
  • Support architectural concept and massing development and overall project expression and character;
  • Lead quality control and assurance activities during schematic design, design development, and construction document phases;
  • Support the progression of the project through the Ontario Ministry of Health's capital planning process;
  • Coordinate plans with other agencies having jurisdiction, including but not limited to the City of Toronto, and Infrastructure Ontario;
  • Contribute to development of master schedule related to all planning and design milestones;
  • Oversee multidisciplinary consulting expertise to achieve project goals;
  • Contribute to and report on project budget;
  • Build trusted relationships with the project team and key internal/external stakeholders to advance key initiatives;
  • Support communication with project working groups that are integral to the success of the project(s);
  • Engage and communicate with stakeholders on an ongoing basis and ensure changing resource and project requirements are met and understood;
  • Other duties assigned, as required to meet timelines and deliverables.

Skills & Qualifications

  • University degree in a planning related field, preferably professional designation in architecture
  • Masters degree in public administration, business administration, or healthcare administration or equivalent experience as asset
  • Minimum of 10 years experience working in a hospital setting or with a hospital as a client related to project planning, design, and implementation in construction industry
  • Minimum 5 years experience working with the Ontario Ministry of Health's capital planning process and/or Infrastructure Ontario's AFP/P3 framework.
  • Experience in a hospital based leadership role, with the knowledge and insight of problems encountered in a complex operational setting preferred
  • Extensive knowledge in the planning and design of health capital infrastructure
  • Direct experience with _P3_ delivery models in Ontario
  • Detailed understanding of the health capital planning environment in Ontario, including experience working with Ministry of Health, LHINs, Infrastructure Ontario, municipalities, and/or other agencies having jurisdiction.
  • Demonstrated insight into clinical operations and pressures.
  • Familiarity with contemporary thinking in health capital programming, planning and design, including international trends and best practice.
  • Strong project and management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong conceptual skills; systems thinking and ability to deal with ambiguity.
