Springdale Retirement Living is a fully licensed modern Level 1, Level 2, and Enhanced Care Personal Care Home providing full service care to our elderly population.


Job Overview
Reporting directly to the Shareholders, the Site Manager holds primary responsibility for all operational aspects of their location. The individual is highly organized, able to deliver results through others, and an effective and respected leader. He/she understands that our priority is providing the utmost care for our clients.

The individual shall champion Springdale Retirement Living and the service provided to our clients while always seeking areas of improvement.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintain a general awareness of all operational aspects of the organization.
  • Maintain an uptodate list of potential clients and work to ensure occupancy remains above 90%.
  • Hold primary responsibility to liaise with Newfoundland & Labrador Health Services (NLHS) and its employees.
  • Ensure the location remains in full compliance with the Government of Newfoundland & Labrador Personal Care Home operational standards.
  • Maintaining an awareness of attendance for scheduled shifts, vacation requests, etc.
  • Ensure staff and/or department meetings are held regularly and properly documented.
  • Seek opportunities and ensure regular training is occurring with staff.
  • Maintain requirements for Occupational Health & Safety compliance including regular meetings and ensuring required documents are provided to the Business Administrator.
  • Approve payroll hours for the location.
  • Maintain a basic inventory of various supplies ensuring that necessary items are ordered from vendors under the Complete Purchasing program where possible to maximum rebates.
  • Maintain equipment and/or facility records and ensure necessary inspections are scheduled.
  • Work with Supervisor staff to ensure regular fire drills are performed and documented.
  • Participate in the Residents committee to effectively understand areas for improvement.
  • Regularly communicate with the Shareholders any issues that may negatively impact the organization and/or its reputation.
  • Ensure clients and their families are properly onboarded upon deciding to make Providential Living their home.
  • Champions the use of technology and a continuous improvement mindset, challenging staff towards improvement while celebrating success along the way.
  • Ensure staff performance reviews are occurring and documentation of such is accurately maintained in our HR systems.
  • Maintain an environment whereby our seniors are treated with the utmost respect and dignity.
  • Be attentive to clients physical and emotional wellbeing escalating concerns as required.
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions in various situations and emergencies.
  • Maintain professional communication while working with Physicians, Pharmacists, Nurses, family members, and clients regardless of the circumstances.
  • A general willingness to work as a team, effectively communicating when help may be required.
  • Remain flexible, willing, and able to perform other tasks as required to ensure the health and wellbeing of all clients.
