Society is about to begin moving into the Metaverse. As we build it - the infrastructure that coordinates us, the rules that govern us, and the avatars that represent us - we lay the foundation for a new civilization.

Join us on the journey to bring humanity into this new phase of our existence.

Our mission at Metaverse Mind Lab (MVML) is to contribute to the effort of building this new world in a way that enhances human flourishing. There is a lot of hype and speculation around the Metaverse. To stay grounded, we focus on a few core economic properties of the Metaverse that will not disappear as the fashion changes, but will persist over time.

MVML is** well-funded** and continues to add top talent to our team: Machine Learning Engineers, Full-Stack Developers, Virtual Reality Developers, 3D Artists, and more.

    The Opportunity:

This is an opportunity to take your Network Programming experience and enhance those skills in new ways. You will work with a skilled virtual reality team and machine learning team to support real-time connectivity of 3D virtual worlds, machine learning solutions, tools and back end servers.

    What's in it for you:

Interesting and Challenging Work. Develop your skills in new ways with a collaborative team that is focused on enhancing user productivity and well-being.

The Intersection of VR/AI. Build immersive experiences that push the frontier of integrating artificial intelligence with virtual reality.

Impact. Your work will be used by many and influence the direction of society in the Metaverse.

Ground-Breaking and Meaningful. We are at the start of an incredible journey. Come join us.

    Our new network programmers will:

Use game engine network solutions. You effectively and efficiently use existing network solutions for popular game engines such as Unity or Unreal.

Write TCP/UDP socket code. You write code to directly connect tools and technologies together.

Contribute to a multiuser VR experience. You collaborate with our talented VR/game programmers and artists to create compelling multi user experiences.

Create performant, scalable network solutions. You not only develop for the small and ideal situations but also provide solutions for the difficult situations as well.

    Our new network programmers have:

Experience. You have contributed to networked commercial products that have successfully shipped.

Strong communication skills. With a strong proficiency in the English language you will document and communicate possible software defects. The ability to work in a fast-paced, scrappy environment.

Technical Expertise. Experience with task tracking software and/or bug tracking software. Understanding of digital recording tools.

Ability to work in a VR environment.

What can you expect when you work with MMVL?

We work hard to succeed. Our workplace is welcoming, fun, inclusive, inspiring, and committed to mission success.

    This is us:

Challenging Work. What we are doing has never been done before.

A Friendly and Collaborative Team. We are mission focused with a desire to succeed and will support each other in doing so.

Hybrid Work Model. At times, we work together in real life to solve incredibly challenging and interesting problems. We are currently fully remote but will eventually work some days from an office and some days from home. We are located in the core of downtown Toronto near major transit.

Health & Wellbeing Support. Full family health benefits from Day 1.

    Experience vs. Credentials:

We want to know what motivates you. We don't believe that everyone follows the same career path. So, if you developed video games on your own but don't have the education to back it up, talk to us anyway and tell us your story, not just your experience and credentials.

    *Need Accommodations? *

Just let us know. MMVL is committed to providing reasonable accommodations as required and will work with you to meet your needs.
