Description

Dynacare is currently searching for a Clinical Laboratory Assistant to join the Histology team in Brampton, Ontario. This is a full-time evening position working
Monday - Friday 4:00 pm 12:00 am

Responsibilities:

Ensures that all samples are properly labeled and identified before testing
Follows established protocol(s) for the handling of unsuitable samples
Operates and troubleshoots complex instruments following department procedures
Performs processing of samples in a timely manner as per departmental guidelines
Performs simple noninterpretive testing procedures under the supervision of a qualified technologist
Ensures that all abnormal, critical and STATS are processed as outlined in the department guidelines. May be required to followup on missing samples
May require entry of results into company's database
Ensures all quality control checks and standards are maintained
Ensures all inquiries and problems are handled in a courteous and professional manner
Instrument maintenance
Reagent management
Shipment deliveries
Problem solving
Archiving
Documentation
Other duties as assigned

Must have:

Completion of secondaryschool level education and a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant training program
MLPAO certification required
Experience providing exceptional, professional customer focused service in a demanding and frequently changing environment
Demonstrated ability to selfmanage, prioritize and collaborate in a teamoriented, high volume, timesensitive environment
Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) at an intermediate level

Nice to have:

Knowledge of AS400 Data Entry system/LIS
Experience in of Histology
